PANDO
In 2017 we started up our third plant, in the city of Pando, a few kilometers from Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.
It is a 12 tpd plant that started production with 8 tpd and was expanded to 12 in 2018. It produces sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda.
With this plant, Uruguay began to manufacture chlorine with membrane technology, with the capacity to supply all of Uruguay’s hypochlorite consumption.
In this way, the country began the process of change in the chlorine production matrix, making it possible to comply with the United Nations Minamata Convention, signed by Uruguay, which will end before 2025 with the total elimination of production with mercury technology.
