FORTALEZA

In 2014 we started up our first plant in the city of Pacatuba, in the State of Ceará, Brazil.

It is a 10 tpd plant that started production with 6 tpd and was expanded to 10 in 2018.

This plant has the particularity of being located inside a water treatment plant, from which drinking water is supplied to the city of Fortaleza and other towns in the state of Ceará (8 million people), in the northeast of Brazil.

The chlor-alkali plant injects the chlorine gas produced directly into the water stream coming from the water treatment plant, returning super chlorinated water to each chlorination point in another flow. In this way, the water disinfection process is optimized, eliminating the costs and risks of transport, storage and handling of liquefied chlorine gas.

MODULAR PLANTS TO PRODUCE CHLOR-ALKALI AND ITS DERIVATIVES

In the case of plants with a capacity of 30 tons per day of Chlorine or less, AVS integrates its own bipolar electrolyzers “single-element” concept, BipEk.

Our BipEk Electrolysers were designed to be operated with simplicity and safety, without the need for expert personnel.

Our modular plants with BipEk Electrolyzers are the best solution for those customers who want to replace their current purchase of finished product, and have it on their own site, for example to produce:

  • Chlorine gas: to be applied directly in the water of water treatment plants, for the disinfection of the water.
  • High quality sodium hypochlorite and concentration up to 190g / l: to be used by manufacturers of bleach or for water purification.
  • Hydrochloric acid 32%: to be used by large industries in their production processes, and / or in the cleaning of their equipment.
  • Caustic Soda 32%: as long as hydrochloric acid is produced, the plant will have the best quality caustic soda available.

Plants installed with BipEk Electrolyzers, AVS design, have the following advantages:

  • In plants, the trafo-rectifier and all their consumptions are powered at low voltage. This makes them safer and reduces investment costs.
  • The cells of the BipEk electrolyzer are robust, have nickel cathodes and titanium anodes, both with activated mesh of the same material.
  • The design of the plants allows easy and economical continuous operation. Our plants operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and for more than 350 days a year.
  • The BipEk electrolyzer, of the single element type, allows the electrolytic cells to be removed individually, thus reducing the downtime of the electrolyzer.
  • The BipEk electrolyzer is provided with an individual VMS (Voltage Monitoring System) for each electrolyzer, which allows monitoring the energy consumption through the individual voltage of each electrolytic cell.
  • Usually more than one electrolyzer per plant is installed, which allows equipment redundancy that gives more production safety.
In our plants there is no chlorine under pressure, which guarantees maximum safety for the environment and for the operating personnel.
  • In our plants, the hypochlorite production system is sized to absorb all the chlorine produced, in addition to the safety that this means, a high quality hypochlorite is obtained with a concentration of up to 190g / l.
  • Our plants are supplied with an effluent treatment system, designed to recover the greatest amount of fluids to the process and to be able to safely dispose of the minimum amount of effluent.
